Read on to find out how to become a Member of the Bloomfield Civic Band:

The Bloomfield Civic Band is a community concert band which was founded 65 years ago.  We are currently looking for brass, woodwind, and percussion players to join us.  It is not necessary to be a Bloomfield resident, and no audition is required.

The Civic Band consists of between 40 and 50 musicians.  While some are music teachers and other music professionals, others are simply enthusiastic amateurs who play for fun and recreation.  If you enjoyed playing in your high school or college band, and would like the opportunity to put music back in your life, please consider joining us.

We rehearse on Monday evenings, between 7:30 and 9:30 P.M., from September through June.  Rehearsals are held in the Band Room of the Bloomfield Middle School at 60 Huck Road.

Civic Band, December 2013

In December, March, and May, we give indoor concerts at the Bloomfield Middle School.  On each Monday evening in July, we perform outdoors on the Town Green.  Our programs include all kinds of music—from the classical to the contemporary.  From time to time we have performed with guest soloists, both instrumental and vocal.

Ordinarily, band members pay dues of $50 per year.  However, for new members, the first year is free.
